At first: Just a short but very important (and awesome) update: The next two months I am going to travel (almost) around the world with my friend Bernhard Schwarz.

Some of our main destinations will be: Bangkok, Sydney, Cairns, Brisbane, Byron Bay, Nadi (Fiji), Christchurch, Auckland, and many more. I am sure this will be the most intense summer in my entire life so far and I am also looking forward getting back to work in September! But before that: “CHILLING IN THE NAME OF!!”

Secondly (even more important): We did it. Our first product is online. Check this out:
BOOM Library
Metal recordings and huge metal sound designs. I personally use it for trailers blenders and hits, logos, wooshes, weapons, impacts, explosions, cars and vehicles, armor sounds, for simply everything. This piece is armageddon, you definitely have to check it out!

It is a concept movie about the new “Mercedes E-Class” taking part in social networks. Max gave me the opportunity to provide the sound once more for one of his projects and finally I came up with a 4 minute chillout track who fits the concept perfectly.

Within a super tight time frame David delivered the perfect sound for my concept movie with regard to mood and dramaturgy – Hire that guy! (Max Brandl, 2010)

Check out the multiple and truely awesome awards we received for Max Brandl’s masterpiece:

NewYork Festivals 2010 Gold World Medal
ADC Global 2010 Silver
ADC Germany 2010 Honor
Summit International Awards 2010 Silber
Webby Award 2010 Honoree
Mobius Award 2009

Here is the full concept movie, directed and created by Max Brandl, sound by David Philipp:

For now it’s done!

Thanks to the shiny light, our final university project “Nibiru” is finished (at least for this semester as there’s still time until the premier in september where we can take some time to polish different things and stuff). Due to the fact the movie is not yet released, I’m still sworn to secrecy about the movie’s plot and details. Nevertheless I really want to shout out a big “THANK YOU” to a bunch of people, which helped me and my colleague Christoph Pichler to create an awesome Sound-Design and musical landscape:

• The Director – Wolfgang Schäffer
• The Vocalist for “Are You Still With Me” – Julia Rath
• The 2nd Vocalist for “Are You Still With Me” – Kristina Köck
• The Whispering Artist – Rhoia Clara Neidenbach
• Additional Voice Artists – Bernhard Schwarz and Stephanie Thor
• My friends and colleagues – Axel Rohrbach and Tilman Sillescu

Without you people this project would not have been possible, thank you again for your great effort and support.

Another thing to mention is the oncoming release of our “Boom Library” which has been used all over the movie. Our teachers loved the sound of the movie, I hope you do so too – Here’s the first teaser of our short-movie “Nibiru”:

Right now we are really busy working, so sorry for the long time without any posts..

Dynamedion is working on a new sound effects library. My friend and colleague Axel Rohrbach created a tutorial video for the upcoming BOOM library. It is called “Cinematic Metal” and there will be two releases. One is the “Cinematic Metal – Impacts”, a library featuring high definition 96kHz, 24-Bit impact sounds to use in trailers, multimedia products, logo design ect. Besides that, the “Cinematic Metal – Construction Kit” will be shipped on two DVDs, including all the source material the Cinematic Metal – Impacts were made of. Again in 96kHz, 24-Bit. More than 4500 sounds will give you the possibilities, to create what ever metal impact (and other impacts) you ever wanted to design. Anyway, the following tutorial describes how to work with the Construction Kit using Soundminer and ProTools! Nice Work Axel!

And there’s another video containing the “Cinematic Metal – Construction Kit” sound effects. Olaf Bartsch and Axel Rohrbach created some crystalized sounds for a logo animation of the animation studio we can dance. Check out some more possibilities of the Construction Kit’s recordings:
